I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while, but life got a little crazy. For the first time in a long while, Caleb wanted to play Caleb's Clues today, but I wanted to get him out to the park. So I figured he could play at the park, but I didn't want to tape the cards up around the park.
For every clue he got, then, he had to go onto that piece of playground equipment and do what you are supposed to, e.g. slide down any slides, climb up any ladder, etc. Once he used the specific equipment properly, he got the next card. All 7 clues were for him to discover what Mommy's favorite thing to do at the playground.
He had a blast! The playground we went to had 5 slides to choose from, so it was partly up to him how the whole thing played out. There were two rock walls, one of which he really shouldn't do (it goes up to high and has no safety equipment for littler kids that don't have good balance), so he needed to do the other one. There were 2 playground sets to play on, and so I used things from both as much as I could.
For the last clue, he ran over to the swings and pointed to them. He asked me if the swings were the answer (okay, he only asked "swings?" but the way he asked, anyone could have know that he was asking if it was the answer to some question!). I was so proud of him, and gave him the last clue. In the notecard, I told him swings were my favorite things to do, and asked him if we wanted to swing right away! He did, but only for a short time. Still, that was a lot of fun to do! It was great to see him going from activity to piece of equipment to reading the cards. The whole thing took 15 minutes, and then he got to play until the bugs came out, but he really liked doing it all!
Alright, gonna have to try doing more of Caleb's Clues!
